The Department of Politics has a rich heritage. From the beginning of the college, that is, from 1970, Politics was taught at UG level as General and Special Subject. The Department now offered B.A(Gen) and B.A(Spl) courses in Politics. Since the inception of the Department, Department had some prominent teachers, such as, Prof. Sonawala and Dr. Shaukat Ali. From the beginning of the Department, it has been batting very well. Hundreds of students got their graduation degree from the department, including many foreigners. The Department has also produced first class holders of whom some secured position in Degree level as well as in P.G level. Many students are now well established as college and school teacher and in other jobs. The Department always organizes/ conducts Guidance Talk, Debate, Elocution, Quiz and Poster Competitions etc. The Department also occasionally organizes Student Seminars, Picnics and Educational Tours.
Goals
- To ensure Politics as a subject of interest, curiosity and research
- To strengthen social, moral and spiritual values in the students to help them to grow as responsible citizens
- To imparting knowledge of the State, government and administration
- To imparting knowledge about the world.
- To develop democratic values & the quality of good citizenship.
Objectives
- The primary objective of the study politics is to inculcate knowledge of the state, its origin, nature, structure and function.
- Politics is said to be a science of statesmanship and leadership. The administrators, political leaders, and diplomats, who conduct the affairs of the state, also require sound knowledge of politics.
- The study of politics makes people conscious of their rights and duties. Knowledge of politics makes citizen vigilant, alert, and intelligent.
- Politics teaches the lesson of cooperation, adjustment and to relation. People of all walks of life should cooperate for the better development of the country.
- Politics helps us to understand the mechanism and constitutional system of modern government.
