Department of Chemistry offering Under Graduate program was started in 1970 and Post Graduate Program in Organic Chemistry in 1995. In addition to this, Department of Chemistry is Savitribai Phule Pune University recognized research center for M. Phil. and Ph.D. degree. Department of Chemistry has highly qualified faculty members with research base associated with institutes of national and international repute. Department of Chemistry has been funded by agencies like DST, UGC & SP Pune University. Alumni of the Chemistry Department proved their worth & are associated with various prestigious institutes of India holding key positions at IIT’s, NCL, Forensic labs, Universities & in core research teams of various Private Pharmaceutical companies. In our efforts to establish a culture of entrepreneurship amongst the students we are very glad to mention few of our successful Alumni have started their pharmaceutical companies working on the thrust areas and molecules with ample importance. We are very proud to see the existence of our department in the form of our Alumni distributed across the globe like US, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, South Korea, Taiwan, Denmark, South Africa, Saudi Arabia & many more countries.
