The Department of Bachelor of Vocation is established in Poona College of Arts, Science & Commerce in the Academic year 2020-2021 with a rather modest strength of 50 students. It consists of one classrooms, a computer laboratory consisting of 50 computers. B.Voc. is usually a skill development program that includes extensive training and hands-on experience in a particular field.
This program is specially curated for the benefit of the students who wish to enrich their skills and expertise towards a decent salaried job.
The course is suitable for candidates who want to go for a job immediately after completing their studies.
The program has multiple entries and multiple exit points where the candidates can pursue a specialized course for 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years. And they will be awarded a certificate, diploma, and Advanced diploma in that pursued specialized course
Real-time practical applications are given to students, to sharpen their practical skills in the desired applications. They get well trained with good skills, expertise, and practical knowledge concerning taken up courses.

Goals

  • Improve their computer literacy, their basic understanding of operative systems and a working. Knowledge of software commonly used in academic and professional environments.
  • Do Academic and Professional Presentations – Designing and delivering an effective presentation and developing the various IT skills to the electronic databases.
  • Use the Systems Analysis Design paradigm to critically analyze a problem. Solve the problems (programming networking database and Web design) in the Information Technology environment. Function effectively on teams to accomplish a common goal and demonstrate professional behavior.
  • Develop IT-oriented security issues and protocols. Design and implement a web page.
  • Understand analyze and develop computer programs in the areas related to web design, mobile application design.

Objectives

  • To provide judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education.
  • To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.
  • To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements. Such graduates apart from meeting the needs of local and national industry are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce.
  • To provide vertical mobility to students coming out of 10+2 with vocational subjects.
