“Stand up, be bold, be strong, take the whole responsibility on your shoulders and know that you are the creator of your own destiny”.

Brief History of NCC

After the First World War (August 5, 1921), the Indian Defense Force (IDF) was replaced by the Indian Territorial Force (ITF), of which the University Training Corps (UTC) forms a very important part. The UTC units were raised primarily with a view to obtain the recruits for the Officers Posts in Territorial Battalions.
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) came into existence on 16 July 1948 under an Act of Parliament. Its motto ‘Unity and Discipline’ has guided NCC in its long-standing effort to mold young volunteers into disciplined and responsible citizens of India. Over the years, in response to the evolving environment, the NCC’s initial military orientation was augmented by dimensions of social service and adventure training.
